Mastic Beach, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Dan Panico have announced the completion of a concrete project on Neighborhood Road from the Mastic Beach Fire House to Commack Road and in the vicinity of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church in Mastic Beach.

Crews removed and replaced 4,260 square feet of ADA-compliant sidewalk,15,698 square feet of concrete sidewalk, 653 square feet of concrete aprons, and 2,491 linear feet of concrete curbing. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $400,000; it was funded through a Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG). “This was a significant concrete project in the business district of Mastic Beach,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “In particular, it involved the removal and replacement of a substantial amount of sidewalk that needed to be brought into ADA compliance.”
Councilman Panico said, “The completion of this highway project will have a positive impact on the Mastic Beach community by providing safer passage for pedestrians and parishioners at St. Jude’s Church.” “Thanks to Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro, a much-needed, ADA-compliant sidewalk and crossing project has been completed,” said Frank Fugarino, president, Pattersquash Creek Civic Association (PCCA). St. Jude Rev. John Ryan said, “The completion of the sidewalk project is truly making Mastic Beach a beautiful place to live. Along with the new Mastic Beach Annex Library, Ambulance/EMT building, and the St. Jude Shrine, things are happening in a good way for our community.”
