Selden/Port Jefferson Station, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Kevin LaValle have announced the completion of a 20-road paving project in a residential Selden and Port Jefferson Station neighborhood.

Prior to paving, crews repaired or installed 6,400 linear feet of curb, 12,100 square feet of ADA-compliant handicap ramps, 22,500 square feet of concrete sidewalk, and 22,600 square feet of aprons. Once concrete improvements were completed, 81,240 square yards of roadway were milled and nearly 6,400 tons of asphalt were put down as the roadways were completely resurfaced. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $1,800,880.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “This was a massive, multi-stage paving project. The concrete improvements, including the replacement of damaged curbing, aprons and sidewalk, needed prior to milling and paving were extensive. I was grateful to complete this project – one of the first of our 2020 paving season – to provide some relief for residents and motorists who travel these roadways.”

Councilman LaValle said, “I want to thank the Highway Superintendent for making this project a priority in this year’s paving schedule.  Infrastructure projects are extremely important to our residents.  As a Town Board, we need to remain focused on funding infrastructure projects like this to continue to improve the quality of life of our residents in the Town of Brookhaven.”
