Superintendent Losquadro, Councilman Foley Announce Resurfacing of 16 Roadways in Holbrook

Holbrook, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley have announced the completion of a 16-road paving project in a residential neighborhood in Holbrook.

During this project, 76,300 square yards of roadway were milled and 9,000 tons of asphalt were put down as 16 roadways were completely resurfaced. Roads paved during this project include Alan Street, Balfour Path, Brian Street, Coleridge Road, Coronado Road, David Street, Donald Street, Geery Avenue, Julius Street, Laurel Street, Lawrence Avenue, Pine Street, Ralph Street, Tarkington Road, Vacation Court, and Walter Street. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $780,600.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “Geery Avenue is a main thoroughfare off of Portion Road. It, along with the other 15 roadways in this paving project, was in need of repair and they are now safer and smoother for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.”

Councilman Foley said, “When our roads are re-paved, it not only looks better, it’s much safer for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycle riders. Superintendent Losquadro has been making tremendous progress improving roads in neighborhoods across Brookhaven Town. I thank him and the men and women of the Highway Department for the work they’ve done and continue to do in my district.”
