30 Aug Brookhaven Highway Department Purchases New Road-Marking Truck
Coram, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro introduced the newest
piece of equipment to join the Brookhaven Highway Department’s existing fleet of vehicles. The new
RoadLazer road-marking system, which was purchased for approximately $147,000, replaces the
Department’s 30-year-old vehicle. The new vehicle will be used to refresh pavement markings that have
faded on existing roadways; it will not be used for pavement markings on newly resurfaced roadways
which utilize Thermo-plastic rather than paint due to the oils in the new asphalt.
“Replacing our old, faulty road-marking vehicle had been on my wish list for some time now,” said
Superintendent Losquadro. “It will allow crews to work more efficiently and ensure pavement markings
are clearly visible on roadways across Brookhaven Town.”
