01 Jul Superintendent Losquadro, Councilman Foley Announce Resurfacing of Hospital Road
East Patchogue, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley have announced the completion of the resurfacing of Hospital Road in East Patchogue.
The paving of this busy artery within the Town of Brookhaven was completed overnight to be as minimally-disruptive as possible to motorists and emergency vehicles accessing NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk.
Hospital Road was resurfaced from County Road 99 to Fish Thicket Road and from County Road 101 to Pondview Drive. In addition, Sipp Avenue and a portion of the Sunrise Highway North Service Road were resurfaced as well, as part of this paving project. The total cost for the resurfacing of these roadways was $614,000.
“We were anxiously awaiting the completion of construction on the long-awaited rebuild of the Hospital Road Bridge so we could resurface theses surrounding roadways,” said Superintendent Losquadro, noting that the bridge project was finished last year. “Hospital Road sees a tremendous amount of traffic, as more than 12,000 vehicles cross over Hospital Bridge daily, including a dozen ambulance and fire agencies.”
Councilman Foley said, “Hospital Road is a vital route for our residents and emergency services, especially with its proximity to NYU Langone Hospital,” said Councilman Foley. “I’m proud that we were able to get this work done efficiently and with minimal disruption to the community.”
