Superintendent Losquadro, Councilwoman Bonner Announce Completion of 33-Road Sound Beach Paving Project

Sound Beach, NY
 – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Jane Bonner have announced the completion of a 33-road Sound Beach paving project.

Prior to resurfacing the roadways, crews inspected and repaired drains and replaced damaged concrete aprons. The total cost for this paving project was $830,524.

Roads resurfaced included: Beacon Drive, Lookout Drive, Halesite Drive, High Hill Drive, Mitchell Drive, Curtis Drive, Millers Road, Syosset Road, Williston Road, Sunrise Drive, Rockaway Drive, Long Beach Drive, Island Road, Greenlawn Road, Hampton Road, Flowerfield Road, Mineola Road, Sea Cliff Drive, Hillside Road, Laurelton Road, Valley Drive, Lynbrook Drive, Westbury Drive, Kew Drive, Northport Road, Huntington Road, King Road, Mastic Road, Nassau Road, New York Avenue, Babylon Drive, Bayport Road, and Farmingdale Road.

“Last year, we paved 28 Sound Beach roadways west of Echo Avenue and, this year, we returned to pave a substantial number of roads east of Echo Avenue, between Sound Beach Boulevard and Echo,” Superintendent Losquadro said. “That’s more than 60 roadways in that area resurfaced in the past two years. We are moving through Sound Beach – and across the Town – improving infrastructure and enhancing safety.”

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Investing in our local roads is essential to maintaining the quality of life and safety for Sound Beach residents. This comprehensive paving project not only improves daily commutes but also strengthens our community’s infrastructure for years to come. I’m proud to work alongside Superintendent Losquadro to deliver these important improvements.”
