The total cost for the Miller Place project, which prior to the milling and paving of Sylvan Avenue and Alilah Court, included the repair or replacement of 876 linear feet of curb, 1,025 square feet of sidewalk, 1,142 square feet of handicap ramps and 918 square feet of aprons, as well as drainage maintenance, was approximately $320,000. The total cost for the resurfacing of Mt. Sinai Avenue, which also included drainage maintenance and concrete repairs, was approximately $210,000.
“Both Sylvan Avenue and Mt. Sinai Avenue are heavily-traveled, main arteries that were in need of repair,” Superintendent Losquadro said. “Their resurfacing should provide some much-needed relief for area residents and those who travel the roadways.”
Councilwoman Bonner said, “The recently completed projects have made the roads safer for everyone who uses them, whether they are driving, walking or riding a bicycle. I thank Superintendent Losquadro and the Highway Department for all the work they do to improve our infrastructure as we continue to make road safety a top priority in my Council District.”
