Superintendent Losquadro, Councilwoman Bonner Announce Completion of Rocky Point Paving and Drainage Project

Rocky Point, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Jane Bonner have announced the completion of a 12-road paving and drainage project in Rocky Point.

Prior to resurfacing the roadways, crews installed new drainage on Undine Road to alleviate flooding in the area. The additional drainage cost $178,219; the road resurfacing cost $202,995, of which $173,748 was paid for through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

Roads resurfaced included: Diana Road, Dryad Road, Isis Road, Lyre Road, Naiad Road, Nautilus Drive, Poseidon Road, Tarn Road, Thor Road, Undine Road, Valhal Road, and Valkyr Road.

“I am grateful that we were able to utilize CDBG funding to pay for the majority of the road resurfacing in this project,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “This grant funding helps to offset taxpayer costs for local infrastructure repairs, paving projects and improving stormwater drainage.”

“We appreciate the work of our Highway Superintendent here in Rocky Point, and the wise application of CDBG funds by our HHS Commissioner Alison Karppi,” said Town Supervisor Dan Panico. “We work together as a team in Brookhaven.”

“Road paving and drainage improvements are among the most important services we provide to residents,” said Councilwoman Bonner. “This project will make a meaningful difference for homeowners in this Rocky Point neighborhood. I am proud that we were able to help secure funding to complete the work while reducing the burden on taxpayers, and I thank Superintendent Losquadro and the Highway Department crews for their work on behalf of the community.”
