Superintendent Losquadro, Councilmember Kornreich Announce Completion of Port Jefferson Station Paving Projects

Port Jefferson Station, NY– Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadroand CouncilmemberJonathan Kornreichhave announced the completion of two paving projects in Port Jefferson Station.

In the first project, crews inspected drains and repaired and replaced damaged concrete including 18,700 square feet of sidewalk, 4,400 linear feet of curbing and 5,700 square feet of aprons. The following roadways were then resurfaced: North Bicycle Path, Greene Avenue, Ithaca Avenue, Long Street, Orange Avenue, Sullivan Avenue, and Todd Court. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $1.2 million.

In the second project, crews repaired damaged aprons, sidewalk and curbing and inspected drains prior to resurfacing Lamport Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $76,000.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “The North Bicycle Path paving project involved a number of very heavily traveled roadways as well as a school zone. Teachers, staff, students, residents and pedestrians in the vicinity of Comsewogue High School now enjoy new, safer sidewalks and roadways as they travel in the area.
