Superintendent Losquadro and Councilman LaValle Announce Paving of Oak Street and Loretta Court in Centereach

Centereach, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Kevin LaValle have announced the completion of the paving of Oak Street and Loretta Court in Centereach. Prior to the resurfacing of Oak Street, crews completed a major drainage project, installing new drainage pipes below the existing water mains to eradicate flooding conditions in the roadway. The total cost for this project, which also included the replacement of several damaged aprons and three handicap ramps, was approximately $215,000.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “Oak Street is an old road that has developed slowly over time. Under-sized leaching pools led to flooding issues. We installed 1,400 feet of new piping connecting to the recharge basin at a cost of just over $100,000.”

Councilman LaValle said, “I commend Superintendent Losquadro and the men and women of the Highway Department for not only addressing the condition of the roads but, in the case of Oak Street, correcting the major drainage issues that were affecting residents in the area.”
