SUPERINTENDENT LOSQUADRO IMPROVES ROADWAY CONDITIONS IN MORICHES AND CENTER MORICHES

Moriches/Center Moriches, NY – The Brookhaven Highway Department’s paving season is firing on all cylinders and paving projects have just been completed in the hamlets of Moriches and Center Moriches. The roadways addressed required full depth reclamation. This process consists of pulverizing existing roadway with a machine that resembles a large rototiller and recycling the material to use as part of a strong and durable base.

One project was in the Wilcox Farms community, located off of Old Neck Road. The roadways included in the project were: Hampton Drive, Holly Court, Jennifer Court, Katie Way, Marion Court, Robert Court and Shannon Court.

Residents who live in the neighborhood were very complementary of the Highway Department’s work.

“It’s one hundred times better than what it was,” said Kim Dwyer, who lives in the neighborhood. “All the workers were very professional and we really weren’t inconvenienced at all.”

Cedar Street located off of Montauk Highway in Moriches and Robinson Street located off of Frowein Road in Center Moriches were also addressed within the same time frame.

“It is very gratifying to know residents are pleased with both the finished product and the process in which our paving projects are being conducted,” said Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro. “I want to thank the residents for their patience during the process and all the employees for their continuing hard work.”
